"Overall we are not seeing any improvement year on year in the European market. Some markets like Germany increased due to continued scrapping schemes but this is offset by deterioration in Spain and Russia," said Francois Goupil de Bouillé, Vice President - Sales for Nissan in Europe. "Our sales performance is in line with expectations and some key countries such as Russia, Italy, UK and Spain have improved their market share year on year," he concluded.

Nissan's European Sales Drop 16% in April
Nissan today reported 37,980 sales in European sales in April that represents a 16 percent decrease compared to the same month a year ago. Aside from the Qashqai small crossover and the Micra that recorded increases of 21 and 4 percent year on year respectively, the rest of Nissan's European range took a hard beating with the X-Trail reporting a 56 percent drop, the Note -39 percent, the Tiida -60 percent, the Almera -55 percent, the Navara - 65 percent and the Primestar -23 percent.
