Volkswagen celebrated the world premiere of its new Touareg SUV with a special event in Munich, Germany this week. More than 600 guests and celebrities hailing from radio and television, industry and politics enjoyed a 'Late Night Show' themed presentation that led up to the official reveal of the firm's new SUV model that will have its first public outing at next month's Geneva Salon.
Boasting improvements on just about every level, the second generation Touareg's highlights include 'sleeker' looks, drastically reduced weight (up to 208 kg or 459 pounds on the base model) and of course, the addition of a hybrid variant that mates a 333HP 3.0-liter supercharged V6 to an electric motor for a combined output of 380HP and an avg. fuel economy of 8.2lt/100km or 28.7mpg US.
